These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Peritus Systems, the operator of Cibaria. By creating a Cibaria account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Cibaria. Keep your login details safe and make sure the information on your account is accurate. You're responsible for what happens through your account.
Use Cibaria lawfully and respectfully. Content you post or send through the app — community posts, photos, messages, and requests — must not include: sexually explicit material; hate speech or harassment targeting any person or group; graphic violence or gore; illegal activity or instructions for it; impersonation of another person or brand; spam, phishing, or scams; or other people's personal information shared without their consent. Community posts and feature requests are reviewed before publishing, and members can report posts and block other members from within the app. We may remove content that violates these terms, and may suspend or end accounts that violate them.
You keep ownership of everything you add — meals, photos, posts, plans, and messages. You give us a non-exclusive license to store and display it as needed to run the app's features (for example, showing a community post to other members, or sharing a recipe you post to a family board). If you delete content or your account, that license ends.
Premium plans include a 7-day free trial and renew automatically each month until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from Settings; you keep access until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled under the store or payment provider's policy. Prices may change with reasonable advance notice.
Cibaria links to grocery retailers and references restaurants and dishes by name. Those businesses are independent of us — purchases, deliveries, pricing, and orders placed on their sites or apps are governed by their own terms. Restaurant and retailer names belong to their respective owners.
Cibaria provides general nutrition information and estimates for personal use only. It is not medical, nutritional, or dietary advice, and it doesn't replace guidance from a qualified health professional. Don't rely on it to diagnose, treat, or manage any health condition.
The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Nutrition values, prices, and AI-generated recipes are estimates and may be inaccurate or incomplete. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including decisions about food, diet, or purchases made based on its content.
You can delete your account and data at any time from Settings. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or the law.
These terms and any dispute arising from or relating to Cibaria are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.

Account basics (name, email), the meals and photos you save, your goals and dietary preferences, pantry and shopping items, meal plans and nutrition logs, family boards you post to, and your direct messages. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted: their contents exist in readable form only on your device and the recipient's.
To run the features you use — analyzing meals, planning, tracking nutrition, and sharing with the people you choose. We never sell your personal information and we don't use your data for advertising.
All traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS) and data is encrypted at rest. Access to your records follows least privilege: your meals, plans, logs, pantry, and messages are visible only to you (and, for shared boards, the members you invite). Community posts and feature requests pass server-side content review before publishing. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted with keys that never leave your device.
You can export a copy of your data at any time (Settings → Security → Download my data) or permanently delete your account and everything in it (Settings → Delete account). Message notifications are off by default and only you can turn them on. You may access, correct, or erase your personal data at any time — these rights are honored for every user, in line with the GDPR.
We keep your data only while your account is active. Deleting your account removes your meals, plans, logs, pantry, community posts, and messages.
Cibaria's controls are designed to align with the control objectives of SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001, the GDPR, and the FedRAMP security baseline — least-privilege access, encryption in transit and at rest, end-to-end encryption for messages, server-side input validation and content moderation, and user-controlled data export and deletion.
Cibaria is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Calorie and macronutrient values are AI estimates based on photos or descriptions — actual values vary with portions, brands, and preparation. They are general information, not medical or dietary advice. If you have a health condition or specific dietary needs, talk to a qualified professional before changing what you eat.
Recipes, meal plans, and suggestions don't automatically account for every allergy or intolerance — always check ingredients and product labels yourself, especially if you manage food allergies. Follow safe food handling and cooking practices; recommendations like "no rating of doneness" aren't provided, so cook foods to safe internal temperatures.
Meal analyses, copycat recipes, cooking suggestions, and shopping lists are generated by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or improbable results. Use your judgment, and verify anything that matters.
Restaurant, dish, and retailer names are used only to identify what a recipe is inspired by. Cibaria is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by any restaurant or retailer. Copycat recipes are original approximations created from public knowledge, not official or confidential recipes.
Community posts, ratings, and feature requests come from users and are reviewed before publishing — but their views are their own, not Cibaria's. If you see something concerning, let us know through the Request a feature form.
You can request permanent deletion of your Cibaria account and data here — no sign-in needed. A one-time verification link is emailed to your account address.
